Fellowship
Children
We want our children know that their church cares about them and that being a part of a community of faith is part of being a person of faith. We host periodic Family Fun Night’s, special events like our Advent Hanging of the Greens celebration, a Christmas Eve service with live animals, and an Egg-stravaganza egg hunt the Sunday before Easter.
Youth
Our Youth enjoy fun activities like paintball, mall scavenger hunts, Top Golf and service projects on Sundays as a group. They also enjoy fellowship together to deepen their relationships with one another while learning about our faith and working to serve others.
Adult and Intergenerational Fellowship
Some of our intergenerational events include a Pancake supper before our Ash Wednesday service, decorating the sanctuary for Christmas followed by dinner, picnic lunches at the beginning and end of summer, congregational retreats to the Calvin Center, and a Blessing of the Animals service These are just some of the ways that we enjoy getting together to foster meaningful relationships within our congregation.
Our Senior Adults have Saturday lunches throughout the year and take trips to places like Gibbs Gardens, Booth Western Art Museum, Tellus Science Museum, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, and Braves baseball. Many members also serve on the Prayer Chain and the Congregational Care Ministry Team to provide spiritual and practical support within our family of faith.
Presbyterian Women
Mission Statement of Presbyterian Women:
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
You can come to one meeting or all of them because all Bible studies are independent. We have three separate group meetings in order to suit your many needs and different time schedules, which include:
The Day Circle
The Day Service meets on the second Tuesday of every month, September through June, from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the church. We have refreshments, a Bible study, and fellowship. We have luncheons three times a year. Childcare is provided.
The Sunday Circle
The Sunday Circle meets on the second Sunday of every month, September through June, right after the 11:00 service. We have a Bible study and fellowship. Childcare is provided with advance notice.
The Book Circle
The Book Circle meets on the second Friday of every month, September through June, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the church. We review current fiction and, sometimes, nonfiction each month, and you do not even have to read the books ahead of time to have a great time and learn! Childcare is provided.
In addition to study and fellowship, Presbyterian Women offers aid and comfort to those in need both locally and abroad through different missions and the Community Assistance Center. As a group we are able to make a difference in this world, while, at the same time, supporting one another through life’s journey. Won’t you join us?
